Minimum management, maximum focus
ASG makes a conscious choice for the power of simplicity
Safety and privacy first
ASG's choice for a 'non-Android' screen was a strategic decision based on security and sustainability. Arno Doeswijk, part of the overarching ICT team at ASG, identified risks regarding privacy in Google’s new EDLA certification system. Furthermore, EDLA often has a short support cycle, which does not align with the sustainable ambitions of a modern school.
Our Predia Touch Base fits this vision perfectly. By removing the Android layer, we offer a screen that is:
- Independent: No reliance on external platforms like Google or Android.
- Privacy-proof: No data exchange via an integrated OS.
- Future-proof: Since the screen contains almost no internal software, updates are less complex, and the hardware remains relevant for years.
We now have to visit schools much less often because of board-related issues. That is pleasant for us as ICT professionals, but also great for educational continuity.
Less technology, more continuity
The strength of the Predia Touch Base lies in what is not there. Because there is virtually no complex computer technology inside the screen itself, components like chips and RAM cannot drive up the price, and the risk of hardware failure is minimal.
For ASG's ICT teams, this means a massive reduction in management workload. The screens are powered by the teachers' own devices. This is not only cost-efficient but also guarantees that the lesson can always proceed.
A strong triangle: ASG, Cloudwise, and Predia
A successful implementation stands or falls with the right partners. Together with Cloudwise, we ensured that ASG’s requirements remained central. By truly listening to the needs of both the education and ICT departments, we have created an environment where technology is supportive and the focus returns entirely to the student.
